Locum Tenens - Hazen, North Dakota - NP/PA Hybrid Hospitalist / Emergency Medicine Job

• Seeking a board certified Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
• Hybrid role: Hospitalist + Emergency Medicine coverage
• Coverage dates:
  • April 28 (8:00am orientation, noon handoff) - May 2 (noon handoff; may extend to 3pm if needed)
• 24-hour solo provider coverage (on-site)
• Shift schedule:
  • 12pm - 12pm daily
  • Orientation typically 4 hours (weekday; paid)
• Clinical responsibilities:
  • Emergency department coverage, inpatient admissions, and rounding
  • Average daily census: 9 ED patients, 6 inpatient
  • No ICU beds on site
  • Transfer support to Bismarck for higher acuity cases
• Procedures required
• Telemedicine support available:
  • Avel eCare (24/7 physician support for ED and inpatient)
  • Subspecialty support (cardiology, infectious disease, pulmonology)
• No additional APP coverage - solo provider role
• EMR: Epic

• Morning rounds typically begin between 7:00-8:00am
• Informal evening rounds (9:00-10:00pm) encouraged to reduce overnight disruptions
• Discharges prioritized early in the day for efficient patient flow
• Must remain available until 3pm on final day if relief provider is delayed

• Apartment on-site for providers + additional sleep room
• Hotel covered for first night upon arrival
• Temporary privileges available
• Must have active North Dakota license
