Job Description
You will be the Airframe Structural Design Engineer for the Advanced Development Programs (ADP) which is responsible for delivering innovative airframe structural solutions that enable next‑generation aviation capabilities.

What You Will Be Doing
As the Airframe Structural Design Engineer you will be responsible for applying deep technical expertise to solve complex aircraft structural challenges and to advance the ADP portfolio.

Your Responsibilities Will Include

Create and modify primary and secondary structural parts, assemblies, installations, and interface control models/documents.

Develop, test, and validate aircraft structural designs to meet performance and safety criteria.

Assist in formulating system requirements, conducting trade studies, drafting statements of work, and preparing test plans.

Coordinate with internal Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) and interact with external IPTs and suppliers to ensure seamless integration.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in an engineering technical discipline such as Mechanical, Aeronautical, or Aerospace Engineering

Experience with 3DX or CATIA V5

Experience creating and/or modifying drawings

Desired Skills

More than 5 years experience in aerospace vehicle development

Experience with Fibersim or 3DX composites design workbench

Experience with metallic and composite design

Experience with 3D model based design definition

Experience with determinant structural assembly

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Ability to work in a collaborative and team-based environment

A US-DoD classified secret clearance

Other Important Information
Must be a U.S. citizen. This position is located at a facility that requires special access. The selected candidate must be able to obtain a secret clearance. Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
