
Billing Clerk

Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Billing Clerk located in Pinedale, WY. The Billing Clerk will be responsible for managing the billing process, preparing and issuing invoices, and maintaining accurate financial records. Additional responsibilities include ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, coordinating financial transactions, and responding to inquiries regarding billing-related matters. The role requires attention to detail and the ability to collaborate effectively with healthcare and administrative teams.
Role Specific
Process insurance claims, payments, adjustments, and denials
Verify patient billing information and insurance eligibility
Assist with account reconciliation and month-end reporting
Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA requirements
Support audits and provide documentation as requested
Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to resolve billing discrepancies
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
Ability to interpret contracts, fee schedules, and payer requirements
Customer-service mindset when interacting with patients and payers
Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced healthcare environment
Dependable, self-motivated, and able to work independently
Qualifications
Proficiency in Billing Process and Invoicing
Strong understanding of Accounting and Finance principles
Excellent Communication skills, both written and verbal
High attention to detail and time management skills
Familiarity with healthcare billing systems and regulations is a plus
Proficiency in office and billing software
High school diploma or equivalent required; an associate degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred
Experience
1–3 years of healthcare billing or revenue cycle experience preferred
Experience with Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payers
Familiarity with Critical Access Hospital or Skilled Nursing Facility billing is a plus
