Job Description
The Senior Accountant plays a key role in maintaining the financial health and accuracy of Es Vedra Cinemas by performing advanced analysis, ensuring compliance with GAAP standards, and supporting leadership with actionable insights. This role is responsible for overseeing core accounting functions, assisting with month‑end close, reconciling complex accounts, and driving process improvements to strengthen internal controls. The Senior Accountant will also prepare accurate financial statements, monitor budgetary activity, support audits, and collaborate across departments to provide advice and guidance. The ideal candidate brings technical accounting expertise, strong analytical skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast‑paced entertainment and hospitality environment.
Responsibilities
Prepares asset, liability, and capital account entries by compiling and analyzing account information
Reconciles and maintains assigned balance sheet and income statement accounts
Analyzes income statement for several operating locations
Prepares special financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends
Assists Accounting Manager in driving change management and process implementation/improvement
Maintains accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures
Guides accounting staff by coordinating activities and answering questions
Substantiates financial transactions by auditing documents
Reconciles financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information
Answers accounting procedure questions by researching and interpreting accounting policy and regulations
Complies with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions
Maintains financial security by following internal controls
Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned
Required Skills
Excellent management and supervisory skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Proficient in accounting software.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
Able to work independently and with a team successfully.
Strong accounting foundation and thorough understanding of GAAP.
Ability to multitask and work in a dynamic environment.
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
Four years or more of related experience is required.
Certified Public Accountant designation preferred.
Physical Requirements
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
