Compensation: $34.50/hr
General Summary
Working with the Human Resources Director and in accordance with the established mission, policies, and procedures, the Human Resources Generalist is responsible for planning, coordinating, administering, and monitoring the personnel and compliance activities for the Community in accordance with the following principle duties.
Principle Duties
Develop recruitment strategies ensuring qualified employees are recruited and hired in a cost‑effective and timely manner. Activities include maintaining Community’s career pages, keeping job postings current on websites including Craigslist and other appropriate online advertising, and developing other community relationships.
Conduct pre‑screening activities including reviewing applications, telephone screening and in‑person screening. Confer with hiring managers regarding candidates.
Conduct New Hire Orientation that fosters a positive first impression of the company. In addition, work with the Human Resources team to coordinate or manage activities which may include employee parties and other events.
Coordinate benefits enrollment activities – including processing of enrollment forms and updating HRIS as appropriate. Maintain company health/benefit enrollments. Reconcile monthly insurance bills and audits. Serve as point of contact for employee benefit questions. Work with broker/vendors as appropriate.
Review and submit all Workers Compensation reports. Actively manage cases in collaboration with the HR, Safety, and Department Director to maintain required logs, prepare necessary reports, analyze injury logs, and submit recommendations to supervisors regarding areas of concern.
Handle the full cycle of all employee leave of absences in collaboration with the HR Director.
Track and maintain certification, licensure, and work permit expirations and ensure all on file are current.
Complete exit documentation and processing for all terminated employees. Conduct exit interviews for front line staff and provide feedback to ED, HRD, and department heads.
Track employee evaluation dates and send reminders to department heads.
May assist with employee relations issues with either employees or managers through effective communication and adherence to company policies and procedures. May consult with managers in the absence of the Human Resources Director.
May assist with the development and implementation of Human Resources policies and procedures, projects and reports as needed. Work closely with director and other HR staff members on assigned projects.
Perform other related duties as required and assigned.
Qualifications
A minimum of three to five years human resources experience preferably in a customer service environment.
Comprehensive knowledge of state and federal labor regulations, personnel administration, employee relations, compensation and benefits administration, recruiting and selection, and training and development.
Excellent customer service skills. Must display a friendly, courteous and helpful attitude toward the Residents, other employees, and the public.
Computer proficient using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Bachelor degree in Human Resources Management or related field a plus.
