About The Role
Hunt Electric, Inc. is seeking an Electrical Preconstruction Manager to join our team. The Electrical Preconstruction Manager is a full‑time position focused on creating, managing, collaborating, and executing quality electrical projects, while planning, identifying, and pursuing new prospects to expand market opportunities in office, commercial, data center, and industrial facilities.

Responsibilities

Prepare project bids, gather proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents.

Identify labor, material, and time requirements by studying proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents; compute costs via take‑off and analysis.

Support pre‑construction and engineering activities, including updating estimating and design‑build projects, contacting owners/developers/architects for bid‑to companies, issuing estimated numbers, ordering plans and specifications, issuing bid bonds, and completing job pre‑qualification forms.

Attend scheduled meetings with project architects or customers to ensure coordination and accurate bidding documents.

Monitor design scope changes that affect budget and/or schedule, identify causes, and advise customers for decision making.

Keep customers fully informed of pre‑construction progress and any significant technical issues and their impact on design or cost.

Support the pre‑qualification process by researching, retrieving, and validating required information and documents.

Support the bidding process by preparing materials that meet the customer’s requirements.

Assist with the coordination and management of customer data in the Company CRM System, maintain contact details, track interactions, generate reports, and assist with managing customer accounts.

Manage other estimators and collaborate with Project Managers on bids, proposals, and client interactions.

Handle multiple projects simultaneously; prioritize and meet tight deadlines.

Contribute to process improvements and maintain a positive team environment.

Demonstrate reliability with regular attendance and adherence to scheduled work hours.

Perform additional duties or work at other locations as assigned by management.

Qualifications

Understanding of value engineering concepts and current electrical, building codes, and standards.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, Viewpoint, and Accubid.

Exceptional organizational and project/program management skills.

Ability to translate technical information into clear, compelling written documents.

Strict attention to detail.

Ability to balance workload, prioritize, and work under tight deadlines.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Capability to work independently and exercise judgment to investigate a variety of questions or problems.

Effective multi‑tasking, time‑management, and negotiation skills.

Excellent customer relationship and communication skills.

Junior college, technical, or vocational school education or equivalent experience in construction, business development, or marketing; proven track record in electrical/construction estimation.

Valid driver’s license.

Work Schedule
This is a full‑time position with a typical working schedule of Monday – Thursday 7:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. and Friday 7:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
