Location: South Chicago Heights, IL - Filling industrial

Responsibilities

Safely operate equipment for the handling and production of packaged gas cylinders, both high pressure and liquefied gases.

Load and unload gas cylinders and other products onto and off of route trucks and trailers, moving cylinders with proper carts.

Sort empty cylinders by type to ensure an organized workflow.

Roll cylinders and operate a forklift truck for movement of cylinders on pallets.

Read and interpret cylinder labels; understand hazards of various gases; ensure accurate labeling and color-coding of tanks.

Care for high-pressure, medical and liquid cylinders; prepare high-pressure cylinders and cryogenic vessels for filling; attach to manifold and evacuate cylinders to remove contaminants.

Contribute to basic cylinder maintenance (painting, labeling, cleaning of work area).

Inspect cylinders prior to filling, conduct safety checks per procedures, and fill cylinders by pressure and weight according to regulations and standards.

Check cylinder quantities, styles, and product; assist with inventory as needed.

Coordinate documentation to DOT, FDA, OSHA, and Airgas standards; complete quality control sheets as required.

Uphold government and company standards relating to the safe handling of hazardous materials and cylinder gases.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

HS Diploma or Equivalent (preferred).

Preferred qualifications include experience in a manufacturing operation; filling or loading experience is a plus.

Familiarity with the gas, welding, and safety supply industry or chemical industry is valued.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to read and comprehend material safety data sheets.

Ability to collaborate with a diverse team and maintain a secure environment.

Self-motivated with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.

High attention to detail and precision; comfortable with basic calculations and units of measure.

Ability to safely operate a forklift (training may be provided). Physical dexterity to navigate the plant floor; vision and sensory capabilities for safety; ability to lift up to 60 pounds and move up to 800 pounds with equipment.
