General Summary
The Maintenance Technician will diagnose, repair, maintain, and support day-to-day plant maintenance across multiple locations. This role requires working safely and productively in an industrial maintenance environment.
The technician must be flexible and available to support business needs, including day, evening, and overnight shifts, as well as overtime and weekends. This role may also require travel between locations as needed.
Routine duties are performed with minimal supervision. Standard practices and procedures allow the employee to work independently on routine tasks, with occasional review of work in progress and upon completion.
The technician must be highly motivated, able to complete tasks without supervision, and effectively communicate issues to the Manager of Plant Maintenance. Good judgment and common sense are required in all duties. Minimal overnight travel (up to 10%) may be required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures; report unsafe conditions
Maintain a clean and orderly work environment in compliance with MSHA and OSHA standards
Inspect rolling equipment and operate skid steer, dump truck, and sweeper as needed
Track and report maintenance completed, parts replaced, and equipment issues
Diagnose mechanical issues by identifying unusual equipment sounds and performance
Identify plant issues and communicate recommendations to management
Assist in assembling, installing, and maintaining piping systems and mechanical equipment
Repair and replace gauges, valves, regulators, and related components
Perform welding and metal fabrication (TIG, MIG, Stick, etc.)
Support plant maintenance, repairs, breakdown response, and site cleanup
Disassemble defective equipment and install repaired or replacement parts
Maintain physical structures and perform facility upkeep
Clear work areas using high-pressure hoses and manual labor
Clean and lubricate machinery components (shafts, bearings, gears, etc.)
Maintain conveyors and change gearbox oils
Operate front-end loader to support plant operations
Climb stairways and catwalks to perform maintenance tasks
Load and unload materials and supplies
Maintain cleanliness across plant and surrounding areas
Take ownership and accountability for all work performed
Perform other duties as assigned
Required Skills and Abilities
Ability to use hand tools and job-specific equipment
Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability
Welding experience (TIG, MIG, Stick) preferred
Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
Basic computer skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Education and/or Experience
Combination of education, training, and/or experience required
2+ years of relevant experience (equipment, plant, or industrial maintenance)
Welding experience (certified or non-certified) preferred
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Valid North Carolina Driver’s License with acceptable driving record required
Work Schedule
Flexible schedule required, including day, evening, and overnight shifts
Overtime and weekend work as needed based on production and maintenance demands
