We are looking to recruit a full‑time Subject Matter Expert and Research Manager who will play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between our research and commercial teams, serving as a key representative of our media product suite while engaging with both clients and prospects. The role will support research of the TV and online video market. The primary responsibilities of this role include the collection of data relating to the economics and content spending patterns of companies in these areas, the publication of high‑quality, data‑driven editorial output, prospect interaction, showcasing the depth and scope of Ampere’s media research and people management. This role will report into the General Manager of Ampere Analysis in LA.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee media market forecasting work, collaborating with colleagues across the company to enhance our coverage across the Ampere Media portfolio – Market Operators, Markets Content, Commissioning and Analytics.

Gain a comprehensive understanding of Ampere’s media research offering and how it can deliver actionable data and meaningful insight to companies operating in the media market.

Showcase the depth and scope of Ampere’s media research to new and existing clients; attend conferences to present our leading media insights and foster connections within the media industry; assist the local commercial teams with product demonstrations, research presentations, and client interactions.

Develop new models and improve existing processes and efficiencies to support and strengthen Ampere’s existing data.

Produce editorial content on key media trends, including reports, thought pieces and PR.

Operate with a global, cross‑market perspective, ensuring models and insights reflect international trends and the dynamics of multiple media markets.

Support Ampere’s commercial team by contributing to lead generation through social presence, personal industry contacts, thought leadership pieces, and presence at industry events.

Build strong relationships with Ampere’s clients, becoming a trusted point‑of‑contact for research and market development questions related to your areas of expertise.

Support and lead custom consulting projects for clients, ranging from in‑depth business strategy projects to bespoke market forecasts, regulatory and policy advisory work, and other tailored research.

Line‑manage a small team of researchers/analysts, providing day‑to‑day guidance, mentoring, and performance feedback.

Plan and allocate workloads to ensure timely delivery of high‑quality research outputs, while supporting individual development and career progression.

Review and quality‑assure team outputs, ensuring analytical rigor, consistency and alignment with Ampere’s standards.

Contribute to recruitment, onboarding and training of new team members as the business grows.

Skills & Experiences

4+ years’ experience in a research, strategy, or analysis role in the media sector.

Analytical: An eye for detail and pattern recognition; experience building market forecasts and models; interest in learning processes to extract, load and transform data in visualization systems such as Qliksense / Tableau.

Communication: Ability to communicate complex issues in a clear and simple manner – both in‑person and through written briefings.

Flexible: Enjoy learning and want to improve a wide range of skills, including data modeling, data analysis, industry knowledge, and other related skills.

Enthusiasm: Enjoy research and desire to become an expert in the media sector.

Technical: Comfortable using Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint) and ability to assess dataset structure and implement fixes and developments.

People management: Prior experience managing, mentoring, or coaching junior colleagues; interest in developing leadership and team management skills.

Organisational skills: Ability to balance individual contribution with team oversight in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment.

Presentation: Prior experience presenting media datasets and analysis in the context of industry or client events.

Basic knowledge of a programming language (Python/SQL) is a plus but not essential.
