
Structural Engineer (Field)

Job Description
AECOM is seeking a mid-level Structural Engineer to be based in our New York Metro office supporting our Building and Places group focused on Transportation. The role includes site visits to observe and report on construction activities, address field questions, and coordinate design and construction issues.
Responsibilities
Perform specific and moderate portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer.
Gather and correlate basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures.
Work on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple tests.
Perform work in accordance with agreed‑upon budget and schedule with little supervision.
Independently perform all tasks necessary to complete primary design elements for engineering works.
Minimum Requirements
BS in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline plus two (2) years of relevant experience in structural design of buildings and transportation structures, or demonstrated equivalency.
Professional experience with ETABS or SAP.
Ability to perform site visits and have experience with condition assessments and state of good repair evaluations.
Preferred Qualifications
PE License in the state of New York or New Jersey.
Experience working with transit authorities such as Amtrak, MTA, and PANYNJ.
Masters in Structural Engineering with three (3) or more years of relevant experience.
Specific software experience in RAM Structural, AutoCAD, SAFE, TEDDS, MathCAD, SpecsIntact, spColumn, spBeam, spWall, and Enercalc.
Revit and MicroStation experience is highly desirable.

Compensation
The offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The range for this position is $90,000 to $120,000 annually.
