Role Mission
The Safety Coordinator exists to support and execute Hewitt Young’s safety programs in the field, ensuring compliance, accurate documentation, and consistent reinforcement of safety standards across all job sites. This role helps drive day-to-day safety execution, so every employee goes home safely.
Core Responsibilities
Conduct job-site safety visits, audits, and observations to identify hazards and reinforce expectations
Support incident and near-miss investigations, including documentation and follow-up actions
Maintain accurate and timely safety documentation, logs, and compliance records
Assist in delivering safety training and ensuring all required certifications are completed
Reinforce safety expectations with field teams through consistent presence and communication
Partner with Foremen, Project Managers, and field teams to support safe execution of work
Monitor job sites for compliance with OSHA and HY safety standards
Escalate safety risks, violations, or concerns to leadership as needed
Must-Have Competencies
Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety practices
OSHA 510 Certification
Strong attention to detail with documentation and reporting
Ability to communicate clearly and confidently with field teams
Strong follow-through and accountability
Comfortable working in active job site environments
Organized and able to manage multiple job sites and priorities
