
Field Construction Manager

Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Field Construction Manager to oversee day‑to‑day field operations for a large‑scale fiber‑to‑the‑home deployment project in central Illinois. The manager will develop project plans, monitor performance, anticipate client needs, and mentor colleagues.
Essential Responsibilities
Ensure projects meet approved plans, specifications, and building codes.
Lead the development of Project Quality Plans and Safety Programs, and oversee incident investigations.
Review and update construction schedules, address delays, and contribute to overall project scheduling.
Estimate activity durations and material requirements for complex projects.
Maintain knowledge of financial reporting and tracking for the project.
Participate in subcontractor and supplier selection, procurement, and negotiations.
Set priorities and allocate resources for the entire field team.
Provide leadership and mentorship to project staff and Superintendents.
Qualifications
Three or more years of experience as a Telecommunications construction Superintendent.
Experience in aerial fiber construction is required.
Post‑secondary education in Construction, Engineering, or a related discipline is an asset.
Comprehensive knowledge of construction documents, drawings, specifications, and current construction practices.
Effective communication and leadership skills.
Ability to directly supervise craft employees as well as subcontractors.
Problem‑solving abilities and capacity to anticipate and address issues.
Strong organizational and planning skills.
Working Conditions
Site‑based position.
Travel required throughout the state of Illinois.
Compensation
$62,400–$85,000 USD annual. Site or project‑based roles may be eligible for additional pay elements. Base pay is determined by experience, skills, education, and location.
