Role Summary
The MaintenanceRobotics Tech is responsible for performing, independently or with minimal guidance, audits, troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance of automated material handling system components within the Fulfillment Center. The tech represents and follows outlined company guidelines for general work practices and performs assigned duties in accordance with proper safe work practices. The MaintenanceRobotics Tech takes initiative to coordinate maintenance activities to ensure the safe and satisfactory completion of all tasks. The MaintenanceRobotics Tech serves as a lead troubleshooter and provides onsite technical skills; therefore, the MaintenanceRobotics Tech must have a thorough understanding of the product flow and operational goals to effectively support the Fulfillment Operations.
Responsibilities
Assists other technicians and/or mechanics in the repair and maintenance of robotics diagnoses, mechanical, and electrical problems using technical drawings and diagnostic tools.
Responsible for performing, independently or with minimal guidance, audits, troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance of automated material handling system components within the Fulfillment Center.
Performs preventive maintenance and repairs on equipment according to safety and quality procedures.
Troubleshoots Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and external input/output (I/O) devices.
Provides resolutions to mechanical, technical/controls issues.
Troubleshoots and repairs key components for the Fulfillment Center.
Participates in cleaning the robotic brushes/lenses and maintenance area as appropriate.
Completes work orders, other written or computer‑based documents according to established procedures.
Assists with developing plans on how to accomplish department goals.
Must be willing and able to be certified on powered industrial equipment.
Maintains inventory of company supplied tools.
Other duties as instructed by supervision/management.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED preferred.
AAS in an Engineering related field or will consider experience in lieu of degree including military service.
3-5 years of related experience in mechanical troubleshooting, technical troubleshooting, maintenance and/or installation is required.
Adept at analyzing and resolving mechanical and technical issues.
Excellent hand and eye coordination skills.
Ability to read, recognize, write, and follow applicable numbers and directives (verbal and written) in English.
Command of basic math skills to ensure accurate inventory.
Ability to maintain a flexible schedule including holidays and weekends as necessary.
Command of safety procedures (including lock‑out/tag‑out).
Frequent bending, lifting, walking, pushing, pulling of freight, standing for long periods of time.
Preferred experience with Geek+ or similar robotics solutions.
Strong electrical background, knowledge of low voltage controls and PLC.
Required prior experience and/or working knowledge of:
Strong mechanical troubleshooting
Solid electrical troubleshooting
Solid controls troubleshooting
Preventative/predictive maintenance
Modification and upgrade support
Installation
Must possess visual acuity to read fine print as needed.
Must be able to hear and understand verbal instructions.
Must possess capability to walk or stand for extended periods of time.
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Must be able to push or pull carts of up to 200 lbs.
Must be able to climb stairs.
Must be able to bend, stoop, kneel and grasp products.
Robotics certification is a plus.
CMMS experience.
Proficient with MS Office applications (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
Experience working with and managing outside vendors, customers, and business partners.
Previous industry‑based experience.
Travel
This position is not remote.
Travel is not required.
Hours
Hours: Tuesday to Saturday 2:00pm - 10:30pm. Must be available to work additional hours as needed.
