Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role based in Northern, WV, for a Resident Civil Engineer Substation. Responsibilities include overseeing civil engineering aspects of substation projects, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards, and providing technical support during planning, design, and construction phases. The role also involves reviewing technical drawings, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, conducting site inspections, and resolving any issues encountered during the project lifecycle. Documentation and reporting of project progress will also be a key task.

Qualifications

Proficient knowledge of civil engineering principles, especially in substation engineering and construction.

Technical expertise in reviewing designs, specifications, and blueprints for substation infrastructure.

Experience in project management, including site inspections, problem‑solving, and coordination across teams.

Strong understanding of safety standards, quality control, and regulatory guidelines relevant to energy infrastructure projects.

Effective communication, collaboration, and reporting skills for team and client interactions.

Ability to adapt to dynamic project requirements and provide innovative engineering solutions.

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field. Professional Engineering (PE) licensure preferred.

Prior experience in energy or infrastructure projects is highly desirable.
