Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $6,150 - $7,280 (competitive pay for locum tenens OB/GYN hospitalist)
• Location: On-site at a leading medical center in Des Moines, IA (50314) - Des Moines healthcare / Iowa OB/GYN jobs
• Employment Type: Locum tenens (Travel/Contract)
• Shift: 24-hour in-house call (7a-7a), 6.5 shifts per month
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Start Date: ASAP
• Facility: Inpatient OBED (8-bed OBED unit)
• EMR: Epic (EPIC experience preferred)

Job Requirements / Qualifications

• Board Certified in OB/GYN (will consider truly board eligible candidates)
• Active Iowa medical license or active IMLC (Interstate Medical Licensure Compact)
• At least 1 year of OB/GYN hospitalist or inpatient obstetrics experience required
• Clean malpractice and background history
• Self-query NPDB (pulled within the month)
• Provider must not be local to the Des Moines area (locum tenens requirement)

Responsibilities - OB/GYN Hospitalist / Maternity Hospitalist

• Manage emergent OBED patients, including vaginal deliveries and C-sections (obstetric procedures)
• Provide high-quality inpatient obstetrics care for patients without a primary OB/GYN
• Coordinate care with Iowa's only maternity transport team for maternal/fetal transfers
• Utilize advanced medical imaging and pharmacy services as needed
• Collaborate with Maternal Fetal Medicine (MFM) specialists (on call) for high-risk cases
• No GYN surgical responsibilities; no supervision of APPs or residents required
