
Tooling Design Engineer

Pay rate : $40-$45/hr on w2 model
Specific skill required – Injection moulding
Responsibilities
Analyze product geometry (CAD) from ID/PD.
Collaborate with PD to develop tooling and fixture design concepts.
Collaborate with Test Engineer to develop testing fixture.
Design and create tooling / fixture CAD.
Release CAD to the vendor.
Collaborate with the vendor through the Design for Manufacturability (DFM) process.
Perform First Article Inspection (FAI) upon receipt of the tooling.
Oversee initial tooling setup, recommend modifications and improvements.
Job Description (secondary)
Support the preparation of cut/print files for DE (sand, laser, 3D print, etc.).
Step in to support hands‑on fabrication during peak times.
Required Qualifications
Demonstrated experience in the design of tooling and molds (e.g., injection moulding).
Strong 3D and 2D CAD skills (NX, SolidWorks or ProE/Creo preferred).
Practical knowledge of manufacturing principles.
Team-oriented individual who is willing to contribute beyond defined responsibilities.
