
Design Engineer

The QTI Group is excited to partner with a Madison-area manufacturing organization to hire a
Design Engineer . This role will focus on new product development, taking innovative manufacturing concepts from early design through production. The ideal candidate brings a strong design engineering foundation, hands-on SolidWorks experience, and the ability to balance technical depth with cross-functional collaboration.
Compensation:
$95,000+ depending on experience, plus bonus opportunity and excellent benefits package
Responsibilities
Lead and contribute to new product development (NPD) projects from concept through launch
Design and model components and assemblies using 3D CAD (SolidWorks)
Apply engineering analysis and testing to validate and improve designs
Facilitate design reviews and present concepts, risks, and solutions
Create detailed drawings and documentation aligned with engineering standards
Support prototype builds, testing, and production integration
Identify root causes of design issues and implement effective corrective actions
Research and integrate new components, materials, and technologies
Collaborate cross-functionally with manufacturing, materials, and product teams
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
6+ years of design engineering experience
Strong proficiency in SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD software
Experience with prototype testing, validation, and root cause analysis
Knowledge of sheet metal design and manufacturing processes preferred
Strong project management, communication, and collaboration skills
