
Production Planner

Responsibilities
The Production Planner is responsible for creating and managing production schedules for bakery products to ensure timely fulfillment of customer orders while minimizing waste and maintaining product freshness.
This role coordinates closely with production, procurement, sales, and quality teams to balance demand, labor, ingredients, and equipment capacity in a fast-paced bakery environment.
Develop daily and weekly production schedules for fresh and frozen bakery items
Plan production based on demand/supply plan, customer orders, ingredient availability, and labor capacity
Coordinate with purchasing to ensure timely availability of ingredients and packaging
Adjust schedules in response to equipment downtime, staffing changes, or demand fluctuations
Monitor production output and communicate changes to production, QA, and warehouse teams
Maintain accurate production plans and data in ERP/MRP systems
Complete MTS/MTO analysis to manage inventory levels to reduce waste, shortages, and overproduction
Support continuous improvement initiatives related to efficiency, yield, and on-time delivery
Ensure compliance with food safety, quality, and sanitation standards
Qualifications
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, or related field preferred
2+ years of production planning or scheduling experience in a bakery or food manufacturing environment
Strong understanding of bakery operations, including batch sizes, bake times, and shelf life constraints
Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Excel
Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
Bakery manufacturing facility
Combination of office work and production floor interaction
Exposure to warm production areas and cold storage
Schedule
Full-time
May require early mornings, weekends, or holiday coverage based on production needs
