Radar Systems Engineer (JOB ID 003000)

Innovien Solutions, Camden, NJ, United States

Innovien Solutions is looking for a sharp Radar Systems Engineer to join an effort that will help field the next generation sensor backbone of U.S. missile defense. This work supports a large scale push to stand up a layered shield over the U.S. homeland against ballistic, hypersonic, and cruise missile threats by the end of 2027.
You will own the full systems engineering lifecycle for the Radar Control Processor, one of the most critical software products on this radar line. You'll touch everything: requirements development, algorithm design in C++ and MATLAB, code reviews, Level 1 and Level 2 testing, performance analysis, trade studies, and verification. This team lives in C++ and MATLAB every single day, and you'll be designing radar behavior with direct line of sight to how it impacts downstream testing. If you're a radar systems engineer who thinks in both code and requirements and who has opinions about how radars should track, this is the seat for you.
REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Physics
2-5 years in radar systems engineering roles
Daily working proficiency BOTH writing C++ code (or equivalent object-oriented language) AND running MATLAB for analysis and simulation (both required, not one or the other)
Proven track record in at least TWO of: systems engineering process, software/system analysis, requirements development, verification & validation, trade studies, modeling and simulation, integration and test
Applied mathematics background in linear algebra and signal processing (matrix operations, FFTs, filter design)
Active U.S. Secret clearance required
NICE TO HAVES

Direct exposure designing how a radar tracks (tracking algorithms, waveform design, target association)
Demonstrated ability writing requirements accounting for downstream test limitations
Working proficiency with radar modeling and design tools beyond MATLAB (domain-specific radar tools a plus)
Advanced degree (MS or PhD) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science/Engineering, Physics, or equivalent
Demonstrated background developing radar algorithms, running data analysis, and building end-to-end simulations
RESPONSIBILITIES

Own systems engineering work across the entire V: design, analysis, code support, and verification
Write and review C++ code supporting radar software development
Conduct Level 1 and Level 2 testing on radar software
Run performance and root cause analysis on simulated and live radar data
Develop and update customer-facing requirements
Author test procedures and execute requirement verifications, including occasional travel to nearby lab facilities
Conduct trade studies to evaluate engineering solutions
Serve as a design SME supporting Integration & Test events when called in
