Fleet Mechanic – Full Time

Job Summary
The fleet mechanic performs services, such as major and minor repairs to company vehicles, and specialized equipment. Work is performed primarily in a shop environment, occasional field environment with some travel from site to site. Must be willing to deal with exposure to noise, dust, grease, orders, and various types of weather and temperate conditions. May be required to work overtime on short notice.
Duties & Responsibilities
Must be able to adapt mechanical skills to some of our specialized equipment
Hydraulic troubleshooting and repairs are a plus.
Performs work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with company policy.
Diagnoses issues based on experience, analysis, and testing
Diagnoses cause of any malfunction and performs repairs
Perform repairs within your current capability/skill level.
Performs routine service inspections or tests and completes standard maintenance jobs.
Examines assigned vehicle to determine if further safety or service work is required or recommended
Communicates with Fleet Shop Working Foreman if additional work is needed.
Documents all work performed and recommended on the repair order.
Maintains cleanliness of vehicles and workspace while performing service or repairs.
Performs additional related duties as required and assigned.
Proper use of Personal Protection Equipment (PPE).
Learn, understand, and adhere to all safety rules and company safety policies.
Qualifications
Some experience is required, including but not limited to preventive maintenance, air brakes, electrical diagnosis, drive-train, steering and suspension.
CDL Class A is a plus.
Must provide his/her own tools
Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
Effective Communication with supervisors and coworkers
Working conditions sometimes include both high heat and cold temperatures
Must pass physical examination – must have some physical ability and mobility to work in a mechanic shop – walk, stand, and sit for prolonged periods of time; frequently bend, climb, reach, and twist; lift up to 50 pounds, operate assigned equipment and vehicles, and to verbally communicate to exchange information
Benefits
Starting pay is $24-$36/hr
Pay is determined by experience, skill, education, and other factors
