
Front Desk Associate

Overview
This position is located at the Unaccompanied Housing and will perform front‑desk functions for the lodging program.
Responsibilities
Ensure the security and privacy of all guests at all times.
Maintain a welcoming manner and positive attitude; professionally interact with guests and answer questions about hotel facilities and local attractions.
Assist with handling customer complaints, escalating to management as required.
Use the Property Management System (PMS) to access guest information, retrieve and modify reservations, register guests, verify registration, secure credit cards for incidental expenses, authorize room charges, and provide room keys or cards.
Process reservations within established guidelines and provide certificates of non‑availability or alternative lodging when rooms are not available.
Register, assign, and manage rooms; issue keys or cards; transmit and receive messages; keep records of occupied rooms and guest accounts; make and confirm reservations; present statements and collect payments.
Prepare a Close Bank Report, deposit cash receipts at the end of each shift, and be accountable for the change fund.
Inventory all keys and other supplies or amenities maintained at the front desk.
Maintain a clean and neat front desk and lobby area.
Run and print reports from the PMS such as Expected Arrivals, Departure List, In‑House Guest List, Night Audit, and daily, monthly, and annual occupancy reports.
Verify charges, correct errors, complete computer‑generated reports, and note any discrepancies for management action.
Answer and transfer phone calls to appropriate individuals; reply to guest inquiries.
Log trouble calls in the PMS and ensure the appropriate department is notified.
Relocate guests to different rooms when required.
Retrieve Lost and Found items and contact guests about them.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
May be required to work a rotating shift schedule covering any time during a 24‑hour day, 7 days a week.
Requirements
Must be at least 18 years old to operate the POS system.
Must have salary transferred to a financial institution via Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer.
Must successfully pass an E‑Verify employment verification check; discrepancies must be resolved as a condition of employment.
Will be considered ALPHA personnel, subject to work during inclement weather or emergencies.
Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
Qualifications
Preferred: 1 year of work experience demonstrating knowledge of basic hospitality operations.
Skilled in the use of a personal computer and various software programs.
Possess basic math and reading skills.
Communicate clearly and effectively in English.
Additional Information
Spouses of active duty military members may receive preference if they are among the most qualified and are within reach of selection. Spouse preference does not apply to NF 04 and NF 05 positions. Applicants must identify the preference in their application and submit required documents.
