Your impact
We are looking for a Civil Design Technician Intern for BIAF for our Corvallis, OR, Office. This role is intended for students currently enrolled in a degree program in Computer Aided Drafting or Engineering. The position is hybrid, requiring in‑person work at least two days per week.

During your internship you will use Bentley and AutoDesk, as well as a variety of other specialty software. Each designer works on multiple projects at a time, providing 2D and eventually 3D BIM design. You will learn new CAD tools on the job and gain valuable work experience in a friendly, personable environment that is flexible to support families and communities.

Responsibilities
You will work alongside professional engineers and designers, gaining exposure to civil site design, plan production, drafting standards, CAD workflows, project coordination and computer‑assisted engineering tools.

We expect excellent written and verbal communication and strong time management skills. The ideal candidate excels under pressure and maintains a calm demeanor at all times.

Job Qualifications

Currently enrolled in secondary education courses and working toward a degree in CAD or Engineering.

Willing to work in the Corvallis office a minimum of 16‑20 hours a week on average while finishing school. Additional hours are welcome.

Reliable, focused, and detail‑oriented.

Preferred

Understanding of CAD applications, preferred in MicroStation and AutoCAD, but will be taught the 3D modeling platforms on the job.

The base salary range for this position is $47,300.00 to $58,000.00; though will be paid hourly based on hours worked. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
