About the Role:
Avail Technical Design Group (ATDG) is seeking a motivated early-career engineer or structural design support specialist to assist with structural modeling, analysis support, and technical production tasks.
This role is ideal for someone early in their career who is looking to gain hands-on experience working directly with real projects involving steel and concrete systems, industrial-type structures, and structural analysis workflows.
This is a support role, not a lead engineering position. Work will be performed in a hybrid setting with some in-person collaboration required.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with building and modifying structural models in RISA-3D
Support structural analysis tasks (loads, members, boundary conditions, etc.)
Organize and export calculation results
Assist with early-stage modeling and layout in Revit (light modeling, not drafting-focused)
Support general technical workflows and project organization
Execute tasks based on direction and redlines
Required (Must-Have):
Exposure to or working knowledge of RISA-3D
Basic understanding of steel and/or concrete structural systems
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow direction
Willingness to work in a hybrid/local setup (Raeford, NC area)
Comfortable working in a technical, fast-paced environment
Familiarity With (Expected, but not expert-level):
AutoCAD
Autodesk Revit (for modeling and layout)
Microsoft 365 (Excel, Teams, OneDrive)
Google Meet
General 3D modeling or BIM workflows
Nice to Have (Bonus Skills):
Experience with RISAConnection or RISAFoundation
Exposure to industrial structures (platforms, framing systems, foundations)
Familiarity with Navisworks or coordination tools
Experience organizing calculation packages or engineering documentation
