Job Description
Position is required to work in Mesa, AZ. Ability to work any shift. 5 days a week, 8 hour shifts.

Earn up to $2.70 more an hour with ASE Certifications

$300 Tool allowance at the completion of each year of service

Knowledge And Experience

One (1) year progressive heavy equipment maintenance required.

Understanding of all systems onboard the fleet transportation vehicles.

Component/System understanding: Air Conditioning, Brakes, Engine, Transmission, Suspension and Steering, Electrical, Fuel, Lubrication, and Differentials.

Understanding the A‑B‑Cs of Preventive Maintenance Procedures.

Knowledge and use of proper safety equipment at all times.

Additional training from mechanical/technical schools, courses, or seminars desirable.

High School diploma or GED. Driver’s license required.

Experience with diagnostic computer equipment required.

Basic understanding of the design, adjustment, overhaul of medium to heavy duty braking systems.

Ability to work amid constant interruptions, prioritize, and be detail oriented.

Perform physical activities including working on top of coaches and lifting up to 75 pounds.

Flexible and able to work in a 24/7 environment.

Obtain a AZ Commercial Driver’s License.

Pass a pre‑employment drug test.

Responsibilities

Detect, diagnose and repair coaches concentrating on major complicated / complex problems including ADA equipment, air conditioning, brakes, chassis, cooling system, engine, interior/exterior lighting, gauges and controls, safety equipment, fire suppression system, sensitive edges, tires, and transmissions.

Perform both in‑house and road call coach repairs using hand, power, pneumatic and precision tools.

Perform upgrades and/or modifications on coach systems and equipment per manufacturer’s recommendations or client requests.

Utilize computer diagnostic equipment to diagnose and troubleshoot coach electrical functions.

Research and evaluate coach problems and provide comprehensive analysis to management in written and oral format.

Assist the Foreman to track trends, parts usage and costs using work orders, preventive maintenance sheets, road calls and experience.

Test coaches for proper working order including road‑driving tests.

Fill out work orders specifying parts and labor.

Preventive Maintenance

Inspections and repairs include ADA equipment, air conditioning, brakes, chassis, cooling system, engine, interior/exterior lighting, gauges and controls, safety equipment, fire extinguishers, sensitive edges, tires, and transmissions.

Conduct preventive maintenance inspections on all types of coaches following specific checklists.

Fill out work orders specifying parts and labor.

Corrective Maintenance

Inspect and verify problems on coaches using diagnostic equipment.

Clean, repair, and replace coach equipment as required.

Test coaches for proper working order including road‑driving tests.

Utilize computer diagnostic equipment to troubleshoot intermediate‑level coach electrical functions.
