
CNC Lathe Operator

Job Details
Position: CNC Operator (Full‑time, On‑site)
Hours: 1st shift
Days: Monday‑Friday
Salary: $25 - $30 per hour
Responsibilities
Set up, operate, and monitor CNC mills, lathes, and Swiss‑type machines according to daily production schedules, including equipment running Fanuc, Okuma, and Citizen controls.
Load raw materials, verify tooling condition, and ensure machines are properly calibrated, maintained, and ready for production.
Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions to ensure all parts meet dimensional and quality specifications.
Inspect parts using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, etc.) and record accurate in‑process data.
Make minor program offsets or adjustments to maintain tolerances within specified limits and ensure consistent part quality.
Identify tooling wear, machine malfunctions, or quality concerns and communicate issues promptly to supervisors or programmers.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area while following 5S and standard safety procedures.
Collaborate with setup personnel, programmers, and quality inspectors to support efficient workflow and accurate production output.
Perform routine machine maintenance and assist with changeovers to minimize downtime and keep production on schedule.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or trade school certification preferred.
At least two years of experience operating CNC machines such as lathes, mills, or Swiss‑type equipment.
Ability to read and interpret G‑code, setup sheets, blueprints, and manufacturing drawings.
Proficient with precision measuring tools and familiar with GD&T principles.
Basic understanding of cutting tools, materials, machining processes, and shop practices.
