HukariAscendent has been providing high-quality technical consulting and engineering service personnel to government and commercial projects, with expertise spanning from nuclear power plant licensing requirements from inception through decommissioning since 1999.
Our comprehensive services include engineering across all disciplines (mechanical, electrical, I&C, civil, structural, fire protection), nuclear safety and licensing, criticality safety engineering, radiological safety, hazards analysis, waste management, and industrial safety and health. We provide in-house recruiting, staffing, program and project management, finance and accounting, and contract administration in support of complex and hazardous facilities.
Position Summary
We are seeking a dynamic Business Development Manager to drive growth and expand our client base in the professional engineering staffing market. This role focuses on identifying new business opportunities, building strategic partnerships, and developing long-term relationships with engineering firms, complex facility operation, maintenance, and decommissioning, and technology organizations that require specialized engineering talent.
Key Responsibilities
Client Acquisition & Relationship Management
Identify and pursue new business opportunities with potential clients in engineering, manufacturing, construction, and technology sectors
Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of prospective clients through cold calling, networking, referrals, and industry events
Conduct client needs assessments to understand staffing requirements, project timelines, and technical specifications
Present company capabilities and staffing solutions to C-level executives, hiring managers, and HR departments
Negotiate contract terms, pricing, and service level agreements
Strategic Business Development
Research market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments to identify growth opportunities
Develop account management strategies to maximize revenue potential
Collaborate with recruiting teams to ensure alignment between client needs and candidate capabilities
Create and deliver compelling presentations and proposals tailored to specific client requirements
Participate in industry conferences, trade shows, and professional associations to build brand awareness
Account Management & Growth
Serve as primary point of contact for assigned client accounts, ensuring exceptional service delivery
Work closely with internal teams to fulfill staffing requests and resolve any service issues
Identify opportunities for account expansion and additional service offerings
Monitor client satisfaction and implement retention strategies
Track and report on key performance metrics including revenue, client acquisition, and retention rates
Required Qualifications
Education & Experience
Minimum 5-10 years of B2B sales experience, preferably in staffing, recruiting, or professional services
Experience selling to engineering firms, or technical organizations strongly preferred
Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets
Strong understanding of engineering disciplines and technical roles across various industries
Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
Ability to build rapport and establish trust with technical decision-makers
Self-motivated with strong organizational and time management abilities
Proficiency in CRM systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and sales tracking tools
Valid driver's license and ability to travel up to 25%
Preferred Qualifications
Engineering degree or technical background
Existing network of contacts within the engineering community
Experience in the staffing or recruiting industry
Experience with contract staffing, direct hire, and project-based placements
Knowledge of nuclear industry, DOE facilities, or government contracting preferred

Salary starts at $85K to negotiable and will be based on experience, past performance, and location as necessary.
