Administrative Specialist (FFTL)
Do you like working with the public? Do you enjoy a face‑paced work environment? Are you a self‑motivated, multi‑tasking, and detail‑oriented team player? If this sounds like you, then you might be the ideal candidate for the Administrative Specialist position with the Kentucky Innocence Project, located within the Kentucky Department of Public Advocacy.

In this important role in Kentucky’s largest criminal defense firm, you will act as both a liaison between attorneys, clients, and other members of the community, as well as an administrative assistant to the office’s supervisor. An employee appointed to an FFTL position is required to meet the minimum requirements for the classification and is designated as an unclassified (non‑merit) employee. An FFTL employee is eligible to receive benefits at the same level as a classified (merit) employee in a permanent position.

Our clients are people who have been wrongfully convicted of a criminal offense and are currently serving time in a Kentucky prison. Compassion for our clients and commitment to our mission are critical characteristics for the successful candidate.
