
Additive Cell Operator/Technician

Job Duties and Responsibilities
Set up and operate the weld wire additive manufacturing printer.
Will need to set‑up part CAD data and program as required from Manufacturing Engineering, load them into the printer and initiate/monitor/complete the printing cycle.
Conduct full machine set‑ups, load build plates & sheets, add wire, tip/machine calibrations ensuring/maintaining proper print operation, loading and unloading of parts.
Use a variety of hand tools and precision measuring instruments.
Maintain a clean and safe work area by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
Maintain continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and production needs.
Document actions by completing production work instructions.
Set up jobs using work instructions and the pre‑print checklist.
Prepping and removing prints from build plates using plasma cutters and torches.
Attend to machine alarms and diagnose problems that might cause manufacturing delay.
Monitor cells throughout additive process.
Operate a variety of hand and power tools.
Adhere to best shop practices and quality standards.
Lift or move materials and finished products using overhead cranes/hi‑lo.
Additive develop work skills and knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading technical publications, industry affiliations, etc.
Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
HS Diploma/Equivalent required.
Additive experience is not required; will train. 1+ years of MIG/TIG welding experience preferred.
Ability to work a flexible work schedule as required to support print cycles; including overtime and weekends.
Able to read and interpret drawings, blueprints and schematics.
Experience with basic hand tools.
Detail oriented, ability to work independently, and excellent verbal/written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
1+ years of manufacturing, welding, additive and/or machining.
Quality Control and Continuous Improvement (Lean) Methodologies.
