
Electrical Estimator

The Electrical Estimator is responsible for the overall proactive direction and coordination of electrical estimates for large projects and/or multiple smaller projects, while ensuring consistency with divisional goals and organizational strategy.
Key Responsibilities
Perform detailed take-offs
Attend project pre-bid site walk meetings and inspections
Review specifications to ensure accuracy of estimates
Coordinate with vendors regarding material quotations
Enter take-off data into the estimating database
Generate qualifications and scope of work to provide clear pricing to customers
Maintain detailed estimate files for records
Provide estimating support to the project management team as needed
Participate in hand-off meetings with the project management team
Continuously monitor and communicate progress or delays of estimates to all stakeholders
Qualifications & Skills
Strong work ethic
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Strong problem-solving and technical abilities
Customer service oriented
Proficient with computers
High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred
Minimum 5 years of direct work experience in the electrical industry and estimating
Knowledge of estimating techniques and tools, with current understanding of electrical codes and regulations
Proven experience in budgeting and project estimating
Experience with Accubid preferred
Familiarity with commercial electrical equipment and installation required
