About the Role
Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council is expanding its Adult Social Care teams and is recruiting Social Workers across several service areas: Early Intervention and Prevention, Safeguarding, Learning Disability, and Adult Mental Health. These roles provide the opportunity to empower adults, promote independence, and deliver person-centred practice in a supportive, forward-thinking environment.
You will manage a caseload within Adult Social Care, working collaboratively with colleagues and partner agencies to safeguard adults, promote wellbeing, and support positive life outcomes. Both permanent and temporary contracts are available, and applications are welcomed from experienced Social Workers, newly qualified practitioners, and students due to qualify.

Deliver high-quality, person-centred social work practice
Empower adults to live fulfilling, independent lives
Work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams and partner agencies
Manage caseloads across safeguarding, prevention, learning disability, or mental health services
Contribute to continuous professional development and service improvement
Candidate Requirements
Essential
Recognised Social Work qualification (or due to qualify)
Registration with Social Work England (or eligibility upon qualification)
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting independence
Strong communication, assessment, and analytical skills
Desirable
Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) status (eligible for £3,000 annual allowance)
Compensation and Benefits
Salary/Pay: £34,434–£47,181 per year
AMHP allowance: £3,000 per annum
27 days annual leave (rising to 32 after 5 years) + bank holidays
Option to purchase additional leave
Generous Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS)
