Overview
Dundee-Crown High School is seeking a highly motivated, self-directed leader who will carry out the duties as the Student Council Sponsor for the 2026-2027 school year.
Purpose
To offer the students the opportunity to develop leadership qualities.
To provide citizen training.
To offer the student body a part of the organization and administration of special activities of the school.
To make possible a liaison between the student body, school administration, and faculty.
To serve as a service organization benefiting the total school program.
Expectations
Plan 3 "Spirit Weeks" per year which end in a dance or school-wide activity in conjunction with the Athletic Office and football/basketball games.
Plan, oversee, and be present during all aspects of Homecoming and Prom activities.
Plan 3 school-wide assemblies each year. (Homecoming, Winter and Spring)
Work with members of the student council to select, plan and run a variety of student activities throughout the school year, with a minimum of 3 events per year, not including Homecoming events.
Provide community service opportunities to membership with a focus on giving back to the surrounding community.
Coordinate 3 Blood Drives per school year. This includes making arrangements with the Red Cross, coordinating student council members to assist at the drive, and signing up students to donate.
Work with the school to recognize the various employee recognition days.
Discuss building needs with the Administration to find possible sources of funds to accomplish building goals.
Responsible for all student council events and activities. Student Council members are under the Advisor's supervision, if problems arise or deadlines are not met- it is the Advisor who accepts responsibility.
Assist with overseeing the senior class gift.
Hold annual Student Council Officer Elections in the spring semester for the subsequent year.
Hold bi-weekly meetings
A specific day of week/time will be determined for all class councils so it does not coincide with other activities.
Attendance must be recorded.
Keep notes/minutes from each meeting.
Meetings will be held more frequently during Homecoming and Prom; or other events taking place.
Attending Student Council Meetings
Assign one student representative to attend each Student Council meeting. These students can rotate.
This student will report information to STUCO regarding the class, and report back information from STUCO to the class.
Pep Assembly participation
Sponsors will help students lead class participation activities during assemblies.
Plan and hold an event/activity
This needs to be a school wide/community activity.
The activity will need to be planned, volunteers will be needed, and Admin will need to approve all aspects.

Work with the Activity Directors to assist and be at Charger Treat.

Qualifications
Previous club leadership experience is preferred.
