CAPTRUST is offering a paid internship in our Brentwood, TN office that will provide exposure to the inner workings of a wealth management firm. This position will be trained in different aspects of financial planning and wealth management. Hands‑on learning starts day one in this fast‑paced environment. The intern will also be trained in multiple software used throughout the firm. The role will be supervised by a Certified Financial Planner. The internship is full‑time, running between June and August with a schedule flexible enough to accommodate class coursework. Completion of the internship may lead to, but does not guarantee, future full‑time employment.
Responsibilities
Financial Planning/Para‑planner Activities
Attend client meetings in a support role, including meeting preparation and follow‑up activities
Assist with gathering client information and creating high‑quality retirement plans
Assist in preparing client account and retirement plan reports
Learn our portfolio management systems
Ad‑hoc Research
Assist in internal research and client‑specific research projects
Administrative
Support client services and administrative teams as needed
Qualifications
Actively pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree at an accredited institution, college, or university
Business area majors, especially Finance, Accounting, or Economics (preferred)
Significant interest in financial planning and wealth management, with intent to pursue the CFP designation after graduation
Strong self‑starter
High‑level proficiency in Microsoft Office suite programs
Excellent communication and client service skills
Organized, detail‑oriented, and able to multitask with proven ability to plan and achieve results
Demonstrate high work ethics and integrity
Ability to maintain absolute confidentiality of information
Team player, collaborative, able to work with and through others
Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple reporting relationships
