Medical Billing Specialist (On-Site)

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Medical Billing Specialist to join our team in Houston, TX. This on-site role is responsible for managing the full cycle of medical billing, ensuring accurate and timely submission of claims, and maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations. The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, and committed to supporting efficient revenue cycle operations.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and submit accurate medical claims to insurance companies and payers
Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility
Review and resolve claim denials, rejections, and discrepancies
Follow up on outstanding claims and accounts receivable
Post payments, adjustments, and reconcile billing records
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of coding, billing guidelines, and payer requirements
Communicate effectively with patients, providers, and insurance representatives regarding billing inquiries
Ensure compliance with HIPAA and all relevant regulations
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred)
2+ years of medical billing experience in a healthcare setting
Familiarity with CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding systems
Strong understanding of insurance claims processes and reimbursement procedures
Proficiency in medical billing software and electronic health record (EHR) systems
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
Strong communication and problem‑solving abilities
Preferred Qualifications
Certification such as Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS)
Experience with multiple insurance payers including Medicare and Medicaid
