Summary/Objective
Plastic Surgery Center of Hampton Roads is looking to add a responsible and caring part-time RN to our team. Excellent communication skills are a must in our highly collaborative and fast-paced environment. Candidate must be a licensed Registered Nurse in the state of Virginia. Traveling required between Newport News and Williamsburg practices.
Responsibilities
Pre-Op Duties
Perform and document patient health status prior to surgery through physical examinations, vitals, current medications, and medical history
Verification of informed consent
Administering preoperative medications as prescribed
Operating Room Duties
Assist with surgery and perform related tasks as directed
Maintenance of aseptic technique within a controlled environment
Management of surgical equipment and supplies
Complete intraoperative documentation
Recovery Room Duties
Monitoring physiologic status of patient such as vital signs, bleeding, and fluid balance
Completion of postoperative documents
Clinic Duties
Assist surgeon with clinic appointment including consults and post operative visits
Schedule and process paperwork for patient tests, procedures, labs, and office appointments
Assist surgeon with minor procedures including documentation
License and Certifications
Current BLS certification
Current ACLS certification
Current Virginia nursing license (RN)
BS or diploma in nursing
Physical Requirements
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
Prolonged periods of standing and working with patients
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time
