Role Summary
The role is responsible for developing, maintaining, and ensuring compliance of the Quality Management System (QMS) and Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) management systems with ISO and industry standards (e.g., ISO9001, AS9120, AS6081, ISO14001). Key duties include leading internal and external audits, driving continuous improvement initiatives, conducting root cause analyses, overseeing document control, and monitoring non-conformances through MRB activities. The person also trains staff, ensures regulatory compliance for both quality and EHS requirements, interfaces with customers, and reports on QMS and EHS performance to senior leadership.

This role can be onsite in our Irvine, CA OR in our Amsterdam, Netherlands Office.

Essential Functions

Responsible for maintaining certifications and developing Quality Management System in compliance with ISO9001, ISO14001, AS9120, AS6081 and other relevant industry standards and customer requirements

Develop, implement, maintain and lead activities involved in implementation of “best-in-class” Quality Assurance Program and customer “Rand Care” program

Maintain and develop policies and procedures of the Company to ensure that products and processes meet all applicable standards and specifications

Lead regular internal and third-party audits of Rand Quality Program to ensure compliance with regulatory and customer requirements, and identify areas for improvement

Monitor and analyze quality performance metrics and drive continuous improvement initiatives

Lead cross-functional teams to identify and perform root cause analysis for quality issues and implement corrective and preventive measures

Ensure document control is maintained accurately, and all Quality Program documents are easily accessible

Monitor OPS team, providing training and support to ensure adherence to Quality Management System

Monitor MRB activities and ensure that any risks associated with non-conformances are identified and mitigated in timely fashion

Evaluate potential impact of non-conformances on compliance and customer satisfaction and analyze trends to identify underlying issues or process improvements

Ensure that all MRB activities, decisions and actions taken are properly and timely documented

Train and monitor staff competency assessments in Rand Quality Program

Stay up to date on all internal and external requirements and new issues that will impact Rand’s certifications and compliance

Stay updated with industry trends and regulatory changes to ensure the QMS remains current and effective

Maintain integrity in the execution of the end-to-end process from order management through customer product acceptance

Identify risk mitigation and customer support activities necessary to comply with customer product specifications

Ensure environmental, health, safety and quality standards are reliably maintained and comply with global guidelines and regulatory requirements

Interface regularly with customers and sales to ensure customer quality and metrics are achieved

Report to Global Director of Quality and Engineering on the status of the quality system and any non-compliances, including status of material corrective actions and recommend improvements

Report on the performance of the QMS to management

Define and own the overall EHS and sustainability strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives, customer expectations, and certifications.

Provide direction, prioritization, and oversight to the EHS/QMS Analyst, ensuring effective execution of sustainability programs, ESG platform, and compliance activities.

Ensure effective identification, escalation, and mitigation of EHS risks, including environmental impact, workplace safety, and regulatory exposure.

Promote a strong EHS culture across the organization, ensuring leadership engagement, accountability, and awareness beyond compliance.

Core Competencies

In-depth knowledge of ISO 9001 and other relevant quality standards

Proven ability to lead and manage cross-functional teams

Experience with distribution, logistics and/or order management

Experience working with an electronic components company

Ability to work well within a team and cross functionally

Strong analytical and negotiation skills

Problem analysis and problem resolution at both a strategic and functional level

Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills

Demonstrated experience in a highly detailed role with attention-to-detail

Requirements
Education and/or Experience and Physical Requirements

5+ years’ quality assurance, internal audit and/or ISO experience preferred -OR- bachelor’s degree or technical certification in a directly related field

Certification in Quality Management (e.g., CQE, CQM) is a plus

Proficiency in Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio)
