Position Summary
We are seeking a highly organized and detail‑oriented Accounting Specialist to support our finance team. The role is responsible for providing accounting support to the Plant Controller, clearing source documents to the accounting software, ensuring files are complete and maintained as needed, handling accounts payable and receivable duties, and assisting accounting personnel with ad‑hoc projects.
Key Responsibilities
Accurately enter and maintain financial data within the accounting system.
Prepare, review, and organize accounting documents and records.
Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
Verify invoices and ensure accuracy and proper documentation.
Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies or documentation issues.
Assist with month‑end activities and ad‑hoc accounting projects.
Maintain strict confidentiality of financial and employee information.
Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and internal controls.
Support continuous improvement of accounting processes and workflows.
Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work environment.
Qualifications
High school diploma required; Associate degree in Accounting or related field preferred.
Minimum of 2+ years of accounting or finance experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Skills & Competencies
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
Experience with ERP/accounting systems (PLEX experience preferred).
Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
Solid understanding of basic accounting principles.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
Office‑based role with a quiet work environment.
Prolonged periods of sitting, with occasional standing and walking.
Ability to lift up to 40 pounds occasionally.
Additional Information
Minimal travel required.
No direct supervisory responsibilities.
