Summary
The Recruiting & Onboarding Specialist supports one or more manufacturing plants by sourcing, hiring, and HR onboarding hourly employees across production, warehouse, maintenance, and support roles. This position plays a critical role in keeping the plant fully staffed, ensuring new hires are prepared for a safe and productive start, and partnering closely with operations & HR leaders to meet workforce demands in a fast ‑ paced environment.
Your Mission
Recruiting & Talent Acquisition
Source, interview, and select applicants for hourly manufacturing roles, including machine operators, assemblers, material handlers, forklift drivers, quality techs, and production support
Meet with hiring managers to determine job duties and hiring needs (in partnership with onsite HR)
Maintain a strong pipeline of candidates to support high‑volume and urgent hiring needs
Source candidates through job boards, community organizations, technical schools, workforce agencies, and local hiring events
Conduct phone screens and coordinate interviews with supervisors and plant managers
Ensure candidates meet job‑specific requirements such as shift availability, physical demands, and safety expectations
Track hiring metrics such as time‑to‑fill, turnover in first 90 days, and requisition load
Represent the company at job fairs, community events, and plant‑sponsored hiring days
Onboarding & New‑Hire Readiness
Coordinate all pre‑employment steps including background checks, drug screens, physicals, and required certifications
Compose offer letters after alignment with onsite HR Manager and Supervisor for the person and role
Facilitate new‑hire orientation with a strong emphasis on safety, plant rules, PPE, and production expectations
Ensure new hires receive necessary PPE, badges, uniforms, etc. to support their successful onboarding
Maintain accurate onboarding documentation and ensure all records meet audit and compliance standards
Your Profile
1-3 years experience recruiting hourly or high‑volume roles in manufacturing, distribution, or similar environments
Understanding or willing to learn plant operations, shift structures, and production workforce needs
Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills with both candidates and plant leaders
Ability to manage multiple requisitions and competing priorities in a fast‑paced environment
Familiarity with SuccessFactors and ADPATS and HRIS systems
High attention to detail, professionalism, and ability to maintain confidentiality
