Scope of Position
Prepare, sterilize, install, assemble, and clean all clinic or healthcare equipment required for surgeries, examinations, and medical procedures. Ensure equipment, instruments, and supplies can be reused safely to prevent infections. Serve as a clinical liaison between the Operating Rooms and the CSS offsite location to track and allocate sterilized instrumentation across the Enterprise. Procure and standardize instrument trays across the Enterprise. The position is utilized 24/7 in multiple reprocessing sites across the Health System, including Ross Heart Hospital, University Hospital, James Cancer Hospital, Same Day Surgery, University Hospital East, and all Ambulatory sites.
Position Summary
Coordinate and oversee daily activities between the Operating Room and Sterile Processing Departments to facilitate efficient case flow, through case cart assembly, decontamination, and sterilization/high‑level disinfection of all reprocessed surgical inventory. Assist in projects and process improvement. Promote customer service and patient satisfaction through effective communication with Operating Room clinical operations and multiple sterile processing departments across the Medical Center. Also responsible for ordering, procuring, and organizing instrument trays on a global level to service the entire Enterprise.
Responsibilities
Prepare, sterilize, install, assemble, and clean all clinic/healthcare equipment for surgeries, examinations, and medical procedures.

Procure, standardize, and organize instrument trays across the Enterprise.
Coordinate daily activities between OR and Sterile Processing Departments to maintain case flow.
Assist in projects and process improvement initiatives.
Qualifications & Requirements
High school graduate or possess G.E.D.
At least one year of experience as an instrument processor or Surgical Technologist.
Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) or Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT); certification required upon hire or to be obtained within 6 months.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, TECHSYS, and Censitrac tracking; ability to learn additional software or hardware as required.
Ability to build and maintain relationships; execute customer service, leadership, adaptability, and problem‑solving skills.
