Job Title: Outer Cape Shell Recycling Collector
Employment Type- Part Time, Seasonal Independent Contractor
Pay Rate: $25/hr Hours: ~10 hrs/week, 2 days/week
Position Summary
The Shell Recycling Collector works directly with the program administrator to execute the Outer Cape Shell Recycling Program. The program is based in Yarmouth and services restaurant partners in Orleans, Chatham, Dennis, and Yarmouth. This position is responsible for collecting shells from local restaurants. Duties include using your own vehicle to collect buckets from participating restaurants, depositing the shell at the Yarmouth Transfer Station, and returning clean buckets to restaurants. Collecting data and regular communication with the team are essential to running a smooth program and troubleshooting any issues that may arise.
Essential Functions
Pick up containers from restaurants 2 mornings a week, distribute and empty buckets, transport shells, and dump at the Yarmouth transfer station according to the weekly schedule
Clean buckets as necessary
Must have a reliable pickup truck; use of own vehicle required
Must be able to lift 25 lbs repeatedly
Quantify and record the amount of shell collected daily
Promote and represent the Shell Recycling program with restaurants and the greater Outer Cape community
Job Requirements
Pick up shells from restaurants, drop empty buckets, transport shells, and dump at the Yarmouth transfer station according to the weekly schedule
Schedule is two days a week, including Saturday or Sunday; hours are early morning with some flexibility
Be positive, enthusiastic, and a proficient communicator
Must be able to lift 25 lbs repeatedly throughout one shift
Must have reliable transportation that can carry multiple 5- and 25-gallon buckets at once. A pick-up truck or similar is required.
Work directly with the program administrator to execute the collection strategy
