PARRIS Law Firm is seeking an experienced Paralegal to join our team. This is a senior-level role that serves as a lead within our litigation structure, guiding and overseeing the work of junior litigation assistants and secretaries. This is a hands-on position suited for a highly capable professional with experience in personal injury and/or environmental law. You will play a critical role in driving cases forward, supporting attorneys through all phases of litigation, and ensuring matters are handled with precision, urgency, and care.
Primary Duties:
Manage a high-volume caseload through all stages of litigation, including trial
Provide direction, oversight, and support to junior litigation staff, ensuring quality and consistency of work
Coordinate and manage discovery, including reviewing discovery and responses for issues
Identify experts needed, contact and retention of their services
Review medical records and coordinate expert examinations
Drive trial preparation including drafting trial pleadings, and in-person trial attendance as needed
Routine contact with clients, opposing counsel, experts and attorneys
Applicant Requirements:
10+ years of litigation experience
Experience in personal injury and/or environmental law strongly preferred
Strong working knowledge of California civil procedure and court rules
Mastery of legal terminology, legal processes and procedures
Experience filing in State, Federal, and Appellate Courts preferred
Trial experience preferred
High attention to detail and ability to prioritize competing deadlines
Capable of typing a minimum of 70 WPM
Spanish speaking is a plus
