
Data Center Technician

Job Overview
Serverfarm is a leading developer and operator of data centers.
The Data Center Technician is responsible for the reliable operation, maintenance, and optimization of mission‑critical data center infrastructure. This role serves as a technical authority on shift, leading operational execution, mentoring junior technicians, and ensuring adherence to safety, change management, and operational excellence standards. The Data Center Technician plays a key role in protecting critical load, reducing operational risk, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
Shift Schedule
The shift for this role alternates 4 days on, 4 days off, alternating day shift to night shift (and vice‑versa). Shifts are 12 hours, 6 AM to 6 PM and 6 PM to 6 AM.
Key Accountabilities
Ensure that all MEP plant and distribution infrastructure is operated and maintained in a safe manner, to best industry practice and within manufacturers recommendations.
Monitor power and environmental conditions within all critical spaces within the facility.
Perform assigned maintenance tasks in accordance with SF practices utilizing the internal CMMS.
Assist with planning and scheduling corrective maintenance activities.
Escort and support outside contractors, ensuring they are abiding SF work rules and processes.
Respond to site incidents, execute appropriate MOP/EOP documentation to resolve and/or mitigate issues and communicate to manage throughout event.
Support and follow all SF Change Control policies and procedures.
Perform site rounds and report any issues found to site management.
Participate in construction and commissioning activities as directed by site management.
Adhere to all local, state and federal safety laws and requirements.
Complete other duties as assigned by the management team.
Participate in and support MOP/SOP/EOP documentation process for site.
Participate in and support the development of site policies and standards.
Work with site team members to deliver 100% uptime of critical infrastructure.
Required Skills
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent AND 2+ years experience working in a Data Center with proven success in delivering customer requirements in a critical technology environment.
Evidence of self‑management and alignment with ever‑changing priorities.
Good written and oral communication skills, tenacity, and working to a high level of accuracy.
Salary and Benefits
$25 – $30 an hour.
