The Surgery Center of Ft. Lauderdale is hiring a GI Technician PRN.
About the Opportunity
The pre and post-op technician in the surgery center is a trained technician who assists the Registered Nurse in preparing patients for procedures, and caring for them post-op.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Assists the Registered Nurse in preparing the patient for surgery and assists with post‑op care.
Checks pre/ post op area for cleanliness and orderliness.
Brings the patient to pre‑op area and assists with changing if needed.
Takes vital signs.
Makes sure all pre‑op testing, H&P, and necessary paperwork are on chart prior to surgical procedure.
Transports patients to and from procedure rooms.
Maintains supplies and equipment.
Restocks carts.
Directs family members.
Includes family / patient in post‑op instructions.
Coordinates patient transportation.
Performs other duties as requested or assigned.
Participates in QAPI, Infection Control and Safety Program.
About the Candidate
High school graduate required, some college preferred.
Experience or interest in healthcare industry.
Knowledge of GI procedures.
