We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Summer Intern to assist with our change management initiatives. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Change Management within the Leadership Development Office at the Department of Labor, the Change Management Intern will play a vital role in ensuring the successful implementation of change initiatives. This internship provides hands‑on experience in organizational change, stakeholder engagement, and process improvement. The intern will help develop content and training materials, as well as coordinate, apply, and track change management tools and activities. Assist in planning, coordinating, and tracking change management activities. Ensure the completion of tasks, gather feedback, conduct training sessions, and deliver communications in various formats. Develop and refine training materials, presentations, and communication content for change initiatives. Utilize change management tools like stakeholder analyses, impact assessments & readiness surveys.
Minimum Qualifications:
Be 18 years of age or older
Be actively enrolled in a New York State college, university, or graduate program, or be a resident of New York State, attending a college, university or graduate program outside of New York State*
Have completed a minimum of one (1) year as a student at a degree‑granting two or four‑year college or university, or be a currently enrolled graduate student or accepted in a graduate degree program
Have a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.0, or the letter grade equivalent
Preferred Skill Sets:
Experience in creating PowerPoint presentations and materials.
Education: Rising junior or senior pursuing a degree in Business, Communication, Organizational Management, Psychology, or a related field.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and independently when needed.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 suite, with advanced skills in MS Excel (including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis) and PowerPoint (including creating compelling presentations with custom graphics).
Experience or familiarity with AI technologies and their applications in organizational change management.
Experienced in collaborative document management and version control using SharePoint, including file organization, permission settings, and workflow integration.
Interest in change management, organizational development, or process improvement.
