
Senior Data Engineer

Responsibilities
Design and implement modern ETL/ELT pipelines using AWS Glue, S3, and related AWS services to replace legacy systems
Architect data transformation workflows that are scalable, testable, version-controlled, and observable
Optimize and maintain Redshift data warehouse performance, including query tuning, materialized views, and cost management
Collaborate with product, analytics, and engineering teams to build data models that support reporting, AI/ML initiatives, and customer-facing applications
Establish and promote best practices, standards, and reusable patterns for data pipeline development
Support production data systems, including monitoring, troubleshooting, and incident response
Required Qualifications
5+ years of hands-on experience in data engineering
Strong expertise with AWS Glue (PySpark/Python), Amazon S3, and Amazon Redshift
Proven experience migrating ETL workloads from legacy platforms (e.g., SSIS, stored procedures) to modern cloud-native architectures
Advanced SQL skills, particularly within columnar or MPP databases like Redshift
Experience with data pipeline orchestration, monitoring, and error-handling frameworks
Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD practices for data engineering workflows
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with Aurora MySQL or other relational databases
Exposure to real-time or streaming data technologies (e.g., Kinesis, Kafka, MQTT)
Background working with IoT, metering, or utility-related data
Familiarity with tools such as dbt, Apache Airflow, or AWS Step Functions
