## DescriptionWho are we: P.I.L.O.T. Services is a small organization providing Day & Residential supports to individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities. What can a day be like: community volunteering, trips to various parks, shopping excursions, beach trips, boardwalk walks, nature hikes, fishing, going to movie theaters, backyard BBQs, yards games, arts and crafts, card games or just hanging out inside homes watching TV are some examples of a day within a day program and/or group home setting.**Lead Direct Support Professional (Lead DSP)**As a DSP, you will provide hands-on support and help individuals live active, meaningful, and independent lives.In addition to DSP responsibilities, the Lead DSP plays a key leadership role within the home—supporting the Residential Manager, guiding staff, and helping ensure smooth daily operations.**What You’ll Do****Core DSP Responsibilities*** Provide daily support and supervision to adults with mild to moderate intellectual disabilities* Assist with personal care and promote independence in daily living skills* Transport individuals to community outings, appointments, and recreational activities* Plan and participate in engaging activities such as arts & crafts, cooking, games, and outings* Support community involvement through volunteering, shopping trips, and social events* Maintain accurate daily documentation using our Electronic Health Record system (THERAP)* Collaborate with team members to create a safe, positive, and engaging environment**Additional Responsibilities for Lead DSP*** Assist the Residential Manager in all aspects of group home operations* Supervise the home and assume leadership responsibilities in the manager’s absence* Develop and plan social and community-based activities* Participate in and contribute to **Individual Service Plans (ISP)**, including attending meetings and communicating individual progress* Support scheduling, shift coverage, and staff coordination* Review and approve staff time entries in the payroll system* Train and mentor new DSP staff, including completing on-site evaluations* Lead house meetings with individuals and support decision-making* Ensure cleanliness, organization, and overall upkeep of the home* Coordinate grocery shopping and support individuals with personal spending (PNA funds)* Maintain proper documentation, including receipts and daily notes* Review medical documentation to ensure follow-up care is completed* Ensure all required documentation in THERAP is completed (progress notes, attendance, communication logs)* Complete Unusual Incident Reports and cooperate with inspections or investigations* Report maintenance or safety concerns and help maintain a safe living environment* Perform additional duties as assigned by the Residential Manager**What a Typical Day Looks Like**No two days are the same.
