Cisco Network Engineer

Vaco is hiring a Cisco Network Engineer for a client supporting regulated, on‑premise operational technology (OT) environments. This role is strictly focused on network engineering and security, with no responsibilities related to systems or operating systems.
This role is 100% onsite in Dayton, OH or Washington Courthouse, OH. No remote work is allowed.
U.S. Citizenship required (due to clearance requirements).
Key Responsibilities
Support and maintain on‑premise data center network infrastructure
Configure, manage, and optimize Cisco network environments, including:
Firewalls (FTD / FMC)
Switching infrastructure
Implement and support core networking technologies such as:
VLANs
LACP
Troubleshoot and resolve network and connectivity issues across environments
Ensure secure and compliant network operations within a regulated infrastructure
Collaborate with internal teams to maintain network performance, stability, and security
Required Qualifications
Strong hands‑on experience with Cisco technologies, particularly FTD and FMC
Proven experience configuring and managing VLANs and LACP
Solid understanding of network engineering principles and best practices
Experience supporting on‑premise infrastructure in regulated or secure environments
Ability to troubleshoot complex network issues independently
Start Date

the individual's skill sets, experience and training;
licensure and certification requirements;
office location and other geographic considerations;
other business and organizational needs.
With that said, as required by local law, Vaco by Highspring believes that the following salary range reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses and/or participation in medical, dental, and vision benefits as well as the company's retirement plan (or similar retirement benefits).
