Join a high-performing surgical team at a Level I Trauma Center in beautiful Colorado Springs, CO, as a Locum Cardiovascular Surgeon. This is an exclusive call coverage opportunity with high surgical volume, ideal for board-certified cardiac surgeons with robust experience in CABG, ECMO, valve repair, dissections, and cardiothoracic trauma.
Location: Colorado Springs, CO Start Date: As soon as credentialed
Schedule:
On-call shifts: Friday Sunday (6a 6a) + weekday vacation coverage
Ongoing need; schedule confirmed post-offer
400-bed hospital 12-bed ICU
Level I Trauma Center
EMR: Epic
2 CV Surgeons + 5 APPs in practice
No other thoracic surgeons onsite during your call shifts
Daily Census: hospital-based patients
1 2 admissions/day, 8 10 ICU cases, 1 2 surgeries/day
Perform on-pump/off-pump CABG, valve repair/replacement, ASD/VSD/PFO closure, thoracic aortic aneurysm repair, ECMO cannulation, and cardiac dissections
Expected to supervise mid-levels and provide full clinical oversight
No pediatric cases Adult patients only
Flight cap: Reimbursed with receipts
Hotel: Reimbursed with receipts
Car rental: Reimbursed with receipts
Mileage: Paid at IRS standard rate (if driving)
Board Certified in Cardiovascular Surgery Required
Active CO License or IMLC with LOQ Required
Must perform all listed cardiac procedures Required
Recent dissection case logs (Excel format) Required at name clear
Strong CV surgical experience Must note years of experience
Active ACLS & BLS (AHA only) or willingness to obtain AHA-approved certs
