
Part-Time Specialist III, Student Services-Temporary

PURPOSE AND SCOPE
The Part‑time Specialist III, Student Services has in‑depth knowledge of functions and processes throughout the scope of the specialty area. This position acts as a primary expert and provides advice and information to others. Ensures that all College and department policies and procedures surrounding assigned area are implemented and carried out correctly by others. Primarily performs specialized, specific functions requiring knowledge and experience in a particular field, area or department function. Typical duties may include information gathering and review, presentation of information in verbal or written form, some interpretation of information.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Assists students in processes relating to registration and admissions including academic advising on course transferability
Provides advice and counsel in areas of expertise such as academic advising, financial aid, and student records
Informs and orients students in order to help them succeed in college setting
May advise high school students and parents on requirements for dual credit, admissions and determines exceptional admission
May provide expertise to others in the processing of transcripts
May analyze transfer coursework, accreditation, catalogs and numbering/grading systems to affect and maintain the Degree Audit system files
May determine residency requirements
Responsible for other reasonable, related duties as assigned

Excellent customer service skills
Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
Demonstrated ability to manage and lead change
PHYSICAL ABILITIES
The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee sits comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items, such as papers, books, or small parts; or driving an automobile. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.
WORK SCHEDULE AND CONDITIONS
Equipment used includes PC workstation running on a LAN in a Microsoft Windows environment, calculator, phone and other general office equipment
Interface with internal and external contacts as needed to carry out the functions of the position
Work is performed in a climate‑controlled office with minimal exposure to safety hazards
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or GED and at least 3 years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
SALARY
Hourly Pay Rate is $15.60
