Field Applications Engineer (FAE)
The Field Applications Engineer (FAE) will provide technical expertise and support to embedded control customers primarily in the Indianapolis, Indiana and surrounding area. Focusing on embedded control microcontrollers, hardware and software. The FAE is part of the sales team and will work closely with sales, engineering, and product teams to deliver winning solutions, support the customer’s engineering teams, and ensure customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

Serve as the primary technical contact for customers, providing in-depth support for embedded control projects, which will include Microchip products such as microcontrollers, memory, analog and power supply components.

Have a solid background in C language programming and IDE usage. Experience with Microchip microcontrollers is a plus.

Collaborate with sales and product teams to understand customer requirements and recommend appropriate winning solutions across our broad portfolio.

Conduct product demonstrations, technical presentations, and training sessions for customers and internal teams.

Assist customers with system integration, troubleshooting, and optimization of embedded control systems and serial communication systems.

Develop and maintain strong relationships with key accounts in the Indianapolis and surrounding region.

Provide feedback to product development teams based on customer needs and market trends.

Prepare technical documentation, application notes, and reports as required.

Stay current with industry trends, standards, and emerging technologies in embedded systems.

Requirements / Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.

5 to 7 years of hands‑on experience in embedded control hardware, C language programming.

Security, serial communications, and Microchip experience a plus.

Strong understanding of embedded hardware and software design principles.

Knowledge of cybersecurity practices.

Excellent problem‑solving and analytical skills.

Strong communication and presentation abilities.

Experience in the industrial, medical, military, or consumer markets a plus.

Experience with other technologies such as FPGA, power, analog a plus.

Required to work in our Noblesville office 40 hours per week; Remote work is not available for this position.

Ability to travel locally to customer sites, plus occasional further travel for customer support and training, that may include overnight stays.
