GIS Specialist – Hartford, Connecticut
Job Summary
Highly motivated and skilled GIS specialist associate to assist in the management and development of GIS applications and software specifically within the ArcGIS online environment. The employee will work for the client CSI Manager to provide support and services in both the Distribution and Transmission disciplines across the franchise territory (CT, MA, and NH). Additionally, they will maintain and enhance GIS based workflows for the vegetation management department using ArcGIS online applications and developer tools. This is a client facing role; the ideal candidate must possess excellent communication skills and value the client relationship.
Key Responsibilities
Manage ArcGIS online user credentials.
Manage and manipulate spatial data sets.
Develop, debug, and optimize Arcade (JavaScript) code used in ArcGIS online workflow automation.
Collaborate on UI/UX improvement for interactive mapping applications.
Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and security.
Develop user guides for end users and training documentation.
Other tasks as assigned by client or company leadership.
Required Skills
Experience with ArcGIS online applications.

Proficiency in Arcade (JavaScript).
Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
ArcGIS Pro.
Strong problem‑solving skills.
Preferred Skills
Prior experience in utility vegetation management.
Familiarity with SQL and other relational database management tools.
Knowledge of Python for geospatial processing.
Understanding of Microsoft Power Automate.
Physical Demands, Conditions, Work Environment
Employee must be able to maintain attention and concentration for extended periods of time.
Work alone in an indoor or outdoor field environment; vehicle and foot patrol of landscape: remote locations as well as urban, city environment; physical demands and travel from site to site, including walking/hiking on various surfaces including flat, dry, wet, slippery, uneven, rough, steep terrain, hills, and slopes; exposure to noise, dust, grease, and all types of weather and temperature conditions; exposure to hazardous traffic conditions.
Physical
Walk, stand, sit, and operate a motor vehicle for prolonged periods of time.
Stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, run, crawl, climb, reach, twist, grasp and make repetitive hand movements in the performance of daily duties.
Carry, push and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight (5 to 10 lbs.).
Operate assigned equipment and vehicles.
Verbally communicate to exchange information with client.
See and hear in normal range with or without correction.
